In the letter he sent, Stalin added, “My heartfelt greetings to all the Muslim brothers and sisters who are celebrating Bakrid, which celebrates the virtue of sacrifice and sharing!”

“Bakrid is one of two great festivals for Muslims,” he said. Wearing new clothing and giving food to friends and the underprivileged are ways to celebrate.

Stalin emphasized the existence of a Hajj house in Nanganallur, educational scholarships, and reservations for Muslims. My warmest Bakrid greetings go out to all of my Muslim brothers and sisters who are still fighting for their rights and advancement in the social, educational, and economic spheres.

In his greetings to the public on Eid ul-Adha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged them to “inspire harmony and strengthen the fabric of peace in our society.”

Wishing you a happy Eid ul-Adha. May this event foster unity and fortify our society’s foundation of peace. “I hope everyone stays healthy and prospers,” he said in his X post.

Several mosques and dargahs were packed with people praying early in the morning as the nation celebrated Eid. In Delhi, they went to the Jama masjid to offer their prayers before the crack of dawn, while in Mumbai, they performed Namaz in the Jama Masjid Mahim Dargah.

Chants of “Eid Mubarak,” which the holiday represents, filled the air as families of all ages hugged and honored the spirit of kindness and sacrifice.

Due to the custom of offering a goat, or “bakri,” as a sacrifice, Eid al-Adha is known as Id-ul-Adha in Arabic and Bakr-Id in the Indian subcontinent. In India, the occasion is observed with the customary zeal and joy.
