A 6-year-old girl of Indian origin was attacked by a racist in Ireland and was told, “Dirty Indian, go back to India…”
Dublin: A shocking and horrifying case of a racist attack on a six-year-old girl of Indian origin has come to light in Ireland. Boys brutally attacked the girl outside her house in Waterford area and shouted, ‘Go back to India.’ The girl’s private part was also attacked. There have been incidents of racist attacks against Indians in Ireland before, but this is the first such attack on a girl of Indian origin.
Attacked by a group of boys
According to local media reports, the attack took place on the evening of Monday, August 4, when she was playing outside the house with her friends. The girl’s mother said that the gang that attacked included an 8-year-old girl and several boys aged 12 to 14. The involvement of minor children in racist attacks clearly shows how hatred against Indians is increasing in Ireland. The mother said that she was keeping an eye on her daughter playing with other children just outside the house. Meanwhile, her 10-month-old child started crying and she had to go inside to feed him. The mother told Dublin-based news agency The Irish Mirror, ‘I told her that I will be back in a second after feeding the baby.’ About a minute later, the girl returned home.

The girl was unable to speak due to fear
The mother said that ‘she was very upset and started crying. She was unable to speak; she was very scared.’ According to The Irish Mirror report, a friend of the girl told her mother that a group of older boys hit her private parts with a bicycle and five boys punched her in the face. The woman, who has been working as a nurse in Ireland for 8 years and recently became an Irish citizen, said that her daughter told that the boys abused the girl and said, ‘Dirty Indians, go back.’
Indians feel fear for safety
The mother said that after the attack her daughter kept crying in bed and is now afraid to play outside. She said, ‘We do not feel safe here anymore, not even in front of our house. It doesn’t seem like she can play without fear.’ The mother expressed her disappointment about not being able to protect her daughter and said, ‘I feel very sorry for her. I never expected such an incident to happen. I thought she would be safe here.’
