After his visit, Biden spoke to the media and pledged to provide an extra $50 million to the Amazon fund. In the past, the United States has provided fifty million dollars.

Biden made four significant initiatives to address climate change during the speech, saying that combating it has been a “defining cause” of his administration. He said that a Brazilian enterprise and the US Development Finance Corporation will work together to raise hundreds of dollars to reforest the Amazon.

In order to rehabilitate and save 20,000 square kilometers of Brazilian land, he also pledged to form a bioeconomy financing alliance and raise at least $10 billion by 2030.

Additionally, he announced that the United States would contribute funds to support the start of President Lula of Brazil’s significant new project, “The Tropical Forest Forever Fund.”
“We all stand to gain from it. President Biden said that the United States benefits from it just as much as any other nation, including Brazil.

According to President Biden, preserving the environment is “literally” a battle for future generations of people.

“If my successor and my nation decide to do so, I will leave them with a solid platform upon which to develop. “Nobody can undo the green energy revolution that is taking place in America, even though some people may try to delay and deny it,” he said.

With only a few days remaining before President-elect Trump assumes the role in January 2025 after winning the most recent US Presidential Poll, President Biden made his statement. Trump has not been outspoken or particularly supportive of climate concerns during his first term as US president.

In the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump defeated Democratic opponent Kamala Harris with 295 electoral votes, earning him a second term as president of the United States. President-elect Donald Trump has acted quickly after winning to assemble his national security and foreign policy staff in preparation for his official inauguration in January 2025.
