For the last two and a half years, Ziyad, an English graduate from the University of Calicut, has been a Quran instructor at Kasaragod’s Najath Quran Academy. “I’m not obsessed with cars. Ziyad said, “All I wanted was a vehicle, but my family’s circumstances don’t allow me to afford one.

He considered entering Skoda’s contest to name the next SUV when he saw it in February. Skoda stipulated that the name has to begin with K and conclude with Q. After giving it some thought for a few days, Ziyad—who completed his seven years of Islamic education at the al Marjan Institute for Hafazath al Quran at Chemmad in the Malappuram district—made a list of names beginning with K and Q before deciding on Kylaq. Additionally, he completed a one-year Islamic degree program at Kuttikatoor’s Jamia Yamaniyya Arabic College in Kozhikode.
