PM Modi to attend two-days All India Conference of Director General/Inspector General of Police in Bhubaneswar
New Delhi: Beginning on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend two days in Bhubaneswar attending the all-India meeting of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police. The Prime Minister’s Office said the three-day conference, which is scheduled from November 29 to December 1, will cover important aspects of national security, such as drugs, new criminal legislation, coastal security, counterterrorism, and left-wing extremism.
The country’s senior police leadership would outline a plan to address current and new national security issues, such as LWE, coastal security, narcotics, cybercrime, and economic security, during the course of the conference’s following two days.
Senior police officers and security administrators nationwide will have an interactive forum to freely discuss and debate a range of national security-related topics, as well as operational, infrastructure, and welfare-related issues that the Indian police force faces.
Over the course of the next two days, the new criminal laws, initiatives, and best practices in law enforcement will also be discussed.
The DGP Conference has always shown a strong interest from the prime minister.
“The conference has also gained some special elements this year. Yoga sessions, business sessions, breakout sessions, and themed dining tables are just a few of the ways that the full day is being efficiently used. Senior police officers will also have a great chance to share their thoughts and recommendations with the Prime Minister on important internal security and policing issues that affect the whole nation,” the statement said.
Since 2014, the Prime Minister has pushed for the DGsP/IGsP Conference to be held annually around the nation.
Guwahati, Assam; Rann of Kachchh, Gujarat; Hyderabad, Telangana; Tekanpur, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh; Statue of Unity, Kevadia, Gujarat; Pune, Maharashtra; Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; New Delhi; and Jaipur, Rajasthan, have all hosted the conference.
The 59th DGsP/IGsP Conference 2024 is being held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, in keeping with this tradition.
Ministers of State (Home Affairs), DGPs of States and UTs, Chiefs of Central Police Organizations, the Union Home Minister, the Principal Secretary to the PM, and the National Security Adviser will all be present at the conference.
