Indian stock market closed today due to Good Friday, know the condition of Asian markets
Mumbai: Due to the Good Friday holiday, Indian financial exchanges are closed on Friday. Other significant Asian markets, meanwhile, kept up their upward trajectory, with important indexes recording gains.

At the time of this report, South Korea’s KOSPI was up 0.27 percent, Taiwan’s weighted index was up 0.58 percent, and Japan’s Nikkei 225 index was up 0.66 percent. Holidays caused the closure of additional Asian markets in addition to these.
At home, a number of businesses are expected to release their fourth-quarter financial results today. Among them are Jay Kailash Namkeen, Laxmi Goldorna House, Amal, Yaari Digital Integrated Services, Jay Dial, Mastek, Network 18 Media & Investments, and Teamo Productions.
There was a lot of foreign investor activity on Indian markets Thursday. Data for April 17, 2025, shows that net purchases in the cash sector were either Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) or Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs). They generated a net inflow of Rs 4,667.94 crore by purchasing shares valued at Rs 18,210.41 crore and selling shares valued at Rs 13,542.47 crore.
Domestic institutional investors (DIIs), on the other hand, were net sellers. They made a net outflow of Rs 2,006.15 crore by buying shares worth Rs 13,773.79 crore and selling shares worth Rs 15,779.94 crore.
Global market indications are still inconsistent, however. The outlook for U.S. stock futures was not entirely positive. Dow Jones futures fell precipitously to 39148, down 521.0 points, or 1.32 percent. Nasdaq futures, on the other hand, increased by 30.0 points, or 0.17 percent, to 1828.
Major indexes in Europe were also seeing negative trade. France’s CAC futures fell 33.0 points, or 0.45%, to 7298. The DAX futures for Germany dropped 145.0 points, or 0.68 percent, to 21331. Additionally, U.K. FTSE futures fell 35.0 points, or 0.42 percent, to 8242.
Investors will be intently monitoring global market patterns and earnings releases for clues when trading starts on Monday, since Indian markets are closed.
