ICE told the media in an official statement that Bishnoi was being held in the facility and that they were unable to provide any other details at this time.

Anmol Bishnoi’s arrest coincides with current inquiries into his participation in a number of illegal enterprises.

The US State Department had earlier on Monday (local time) refused to comment on the possible deportation of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is sought in relation to a fire incident outside the home of Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan.

The State Department said in a statement that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are responsible for the issue.

“If anyone is going to comment on such a report, it would be the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, not the State Department,” said Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department. They may choose not to comment, but I will not comment on anything that is within their purview, which is why I started it that way.”

This comes after the US Immigration Department detained Anmol Bishnoi in California last week; according to reports, FBI officials and Indian security services have considered deporting him to India.

The extradition procedure to return Anmol Bishnoi to India was started by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique and the fire of Salman Khan’s home were both committed by wanted thug Anmol Bishnoi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had previously offered a Rs 10 lakh reward for his arrest on October 25.

In addition to being sought for the shooting outside Salman Khan’s home earlier this year, he is charged in two NIA cases that were filed in 2022. Anmol Bishnoi is regarded as a key player in organized crime and has been connected to a number of illegal acts.
