School Education: NCERT syllabus is going to change again; Children will now know the history of military heroes

School Education: The National Council of Educational Research and Training, or NCERT, decided earlier this year to include chapters in its curriculum on the sacrifices and lives of three outstanding military figures: Major Somnath Sharma, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, and Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Its goal is to instill in the kids moral principles like bravery, responsibility, and selflessness. Students will get a deeper understanding of military history as a result.

Major Somnath Sharma will be taught in Class VIII (English), Field Marshal Manekshaw in Class VIII (Urdu), and Brigadier Usman in Class VII (Urdu). The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defense, and NCERT worked together to take this action. Additionally, the National War Memorial is now included in the NCERT curriculum. In addition to teaching pupils about military bravery, this program will foster in them a feeling of national pride, compassion, emotional intelligence, and a sense of duty to the country.

The Ministry of Defense has declared that this academic year’s NCERT curriculum would feature chapters on three notable Indian military figures: Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, and Major Somnath Sharma. The goal of this effort is to help the pupils acquire virtues like bravery, responsibility, and selflessness.

Marshal of the Field Sam Manekshaw became India’s first Field Marshal. He was well-known for his leadership skills and strategic thinking.

The Mahavir Chakra was given to Brigadier Muhammad Usman. While defending the nation, he gave the ultimate sacrifice.

The Param Vir Chakra was given to Major Somnath Sharma (posthumously). His courage made him an inspirational role model for Hindustan.

Which course will teach what?

Class VIII now includes a chapter on Field Marshal Manekshaw in Urdu. The narrative of Brigadier Usman is part of Class VII (Urdu). In Class VIII (English), the history of Major Somnath Sharma will be covered. The new curriculum was created in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defense, and NCERT. The National War Memorial has also been included in the curriculum by the board. Students will learn about India’s military history via this program.
