Kalaburagi: On Saturday, the Karnataka High Court’s Kalaburagi Bench held a simulated exercise as part of the state-wide emergency preparation campaign known as “Operation Abhyaas.” The goal of the drill, according to District Magistrate Fouzia Taranum, was to improve collaboration amongst important agencies while managing emergencies.

“Every district government has prepared for simulated exercises in their areas as part of Operation Abhyaas. We have already finished the airport mock practice at Kalaburagi. We had the simulated exercise in the High Court today, and Justice Indresh joined us,” she stated.

Along with non-governmental organizations like the Red Cross, NSS, and NCC, the Bar Association, police, revenue department, KSISF, fire department, health department, and other important departments actively participated in the mock exercise.

“Everyone gathered for a single demonstration that included scenarios for bombs, air explosives, and rescue and evacuation. In collaboration with the local community and the High Court officials, these scenarios were executed flawlessly.

“This demonstrated the ability of all 12 departments to coordinate effectively in the event that the district administration had to take joint action against outside forces or a potentially dangerous circumstance. The success of this demonstration has been outstanding. We express our gratitude to the High Court and every department for their excellent collaboration in putting on a fantastic performance during the simulated exercise,” Taranum said.

A thorough mock exercise was also carried out at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala in light of the current security situation and the need to be ready for any possible danger.

Following instructions from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the exercise, which was a component of the Annual Multi-Agency CTCP (Contingency Terrorist Contingency Plan) Mock Exercise-2025, took place from 5:00 PM to 6:05 PM.

A mock terrorist assault on the airport terminal building from the city side was the drill’s main topic.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Airports Authority of India (AAI), AAI Fire Service, Indian Army (21 Para Commando), Assam Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Tripura State Police, Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), and medical personnel were among the important security and emergency response agencies that actively participated in the exercise.

In order to assess coordination, reaction time, and the efficacy of emergency procedures, 186 staff participated in the exercise, carrying out their duties in accordance with the predetermined contingency plan.
