Israel plans to establish full control over the Gaza Strip

Jerusalem: Israel has a strategy in place to take over the Gaza Strip as a whole. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, said that in order to eradicate Hamas, complete control over Gaza is required. Furthermore, Israel has said that it would turn over Gaza to its friendly Arab troops after it has fully taken control of the territory.

Israel’s military operation in Gaza is difficult to extend. This might endanger the lives of Israeli captives held by Hamas. Israel will also experience isolation on the global scene at the same time. The Israeli Security Cabinet met in Jerusalem to consider all of these matters.

Netanyahu explained the strategy

On condition of anonymity, an Israeli official had previously informed news agency Reuters that the Security Cabinet will develop a strategy to seize all of Gaza’s uncontrolled areas. In order to put further pressure on Hamas, this will be applied gradually.

“We want to remove Hamas from there but do not want to keep it with us,” Netanyahu said when questioned about this before the meeting. A security circle will be established and turned over to the Arab army. The inhabitants of Gaza will live better lives under the appropriate control of the Arab forces.

Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Israel’s military leader, has also voiced concern that this action might put the captives at risk. Actually, Israel and Hamas have been at war for over two years. About three-fourths of Gaza is under Israeli administration, but Netanyahu now wants complete authority.
