Meteorological Department: Heavy rains are expected in 8 states including Himachal today, floods may occur in these states

New Delhi: Over the last 24 hours, heavy rains and high winds have been seen in many regions throughout the nation, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected to persist for the next three days in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. In several areas of Uttarakhand and northwest Uttar Pradesh, very heavy rainfall is predicted for today.

There will be a lot of rain in some areas of the nation today

The Meteorological Department reports that during August 6–11, there will probably be a lot of rain in several areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Simultaneously, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and western Uttar Pradesh are seeing heavy rainfall today, Wednesday. Meanwhile, throughout the course of the next five days, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are expected to see heavy rainfall. Over the next seven days, the Northeast and adjacent eastern India are expected to continue to have severe to very heavy rainfall.

Rainfall is expected to persist in these states until August 11

During August 6–11, there is a high probability of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall in certain areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Meanwhile, between August 6 and 11, there may be heavy rainfall in several areas of Sikkim, Bihar, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Many parts of Jharkhand, Goa, Marathwada, Central Maharashtra, and Gangetic West Bengal might get a lot of rain till August 7, according to the Meteorological Department.

Tamil Nadu is under a flood alert

Many of the nation’s rivers are overflowing the danger level as a result of severe rainfall and dam water releases. In the meanwhile, residents along the Bhavani River’s banks are under a flood warning from Tamil Nadu’s Revenue Department and Public Works Department (PWD). It has been suggested that residents of the Bhavanisagar, Satyamangalam, Gobichettipalayam, and Bhavani regions who live close to the Bhavani River relocate to safer locations.

There are floods in several parts of Madhya Pradesh

Floods are affecting several Madhya Pradesh districts, including Guna and Shivpuri. Rescue and relief crews have been sent out. The floods mostly hit Shivpuri and Guna.

21 UP districts have experienced flooding

Floods are affecting 21 districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Auraiya. Meanwhile, the Yamuna is over the red level in Auraiya, Kalpi, Hamirpur, Prayagraj, and Banda, while the Ganges is above the danger threshold in Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, and Ballia. This indicates that the Betwa River in Hamirpur is also running over the danger level. More than 200 villages in the district and around 60 settlements in the city have experienced flooding as a result of the recent severe rains in Prayagraj, which have raised the Ganga and Yamuna water levels over the dangerous threshold.
