‘Nuclear terror’ has struck the world, with Russia successfully testing the ‘unlimited firepower’ Burevestnik missile, causing panic

Burevestnik missile: The most devastating nuclear cruise missile in the world, the 9M730 Burevestnik, was successfully tested by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday. During a meeting with Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Valery Gerasimov, the Kremlin unveiled a video of the missile’s test and proclaimed the “Burevestnik,” a nuclear-powered missile.

Reports state that on October 21st, the nuclear cruise missile underwent testing. The missile traveled 14,000 kilometers and stayed in the air for around 15 hours, according to General Gerasimov. The missile will never run out of power since its potential is limitless. According to a Russian official quoted by the Associated Press, “This is not the limit.” According to a Kremlin statement, Putin called the missile “a unique weapon that no one else in the world possesses.”

The most lethal cruise missile in the world is owned by Russia!

Regarding this project, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that when Russian experts tested a nuclear-powered cruise missile, they informed him that it was technically impossible. In Russian, “Burevestnik” means “storm bird.” This missile will redefine strategic equilibrium, according to defense analysts worldwide. This missile is known as SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO.

What is unique about the Burevestnik missile

Powered by nuclear and capable of carrying a nuclear payload, the Burevestnik is a low-flying, ground-launched cruise missile. The distinctive feature of cruise missiles, such as the BrahMos missile, is their considerable difficulty in being intercepted. The current generation of conventional missiles has a range of 400, 500, or 5,000 kilometers. But the most important thing about the Burevestnik is that it has no range at all. Because of its nuclear reactor, which gives it constant, limitless energy, its range is infinite. According to reports, it can stay in the air for many days and fly continuously for up to 20,000 kilometers. Its ability to fly between 50 and 100 meters above the ground makes it almost difficult for any radar to follow it, which is also its most deadly characteristic. According to defense analysts, a solid-fuel booster powers the missile’s engine, and a nuclear reactor warms the air to provide thrust, enabling the missile to fly for extended periods of time. However, this missile’s ongoing radiation exposure is among its most hazardous features.

What is the potential usage of the Burevestnik missile by Russia

The missile will be deployed to eliminate any remaining enemy infrastructure after the first strikes of intercontinental ballistic missile assaults, according to a 2019 article by prominent Russian military expert Alexei Leonkov. “Any remaining command posts, military bases, factories, and power plants will be destroyed by the Burevestnik,” he said. According to him, the rocket would “push aggressor countries back to the Stone Age” and obliterate their infrastructure, both military and civilian.

The development of this missile has not been simple. A huge explosion during a test in 2019 spilled radioactivity into the White Sea and killed five Russian nuclear experts. According to US intelligence, this missile was responsible for the disaster. Only two of the 13 tests conducted since 2016 have been marginally successful, according to a BBC investigation.

Where may this missile be used by Russia?

The nuclear cruise missile Burevestnik has not yet been launched. Nonetheless, the Russian president has ordered the military to have the infrastructure for the missile’s last testing and deployment ready. The missile may be launched from Vologda-20 (Chebsara), a Russian site renowned for storing nuclear warheads and situated about 475 kilometers north of Moscow, according to American specialists. Nine launch pads were being built there, according to August 2024 photos. According to experts, Russia would be able to launch a nuclear assault anywhere in the globe once this missile is deployed, giving it the potential to execute intercontinental stealth strikes.
