Trump’s warning: Tariffs are so high that your head will spin, India-Pakistan be careful
Trump’s Warning: US President Donald Trump once again reaffirmed his claims that he mediated peace between India and Pakistan as the 50% tariff deadline on New Delhi expires on Wednesday. This comes after tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack and the ensuing Operation Sindoor.

Trump said in a statement after a cabinet meeting in Washington, DC, that he forced India and Pakistan to sign a ceasefire agreement by using the tariff threats. However, Trump referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “very terrific” leader during his remarks.
“I told you that I didn’t want to exchange with you. There will be a nuclear conflict. A nuclear war will break out between you two. And to them, that was crucial. “Call me back tomorrow,” Trump added, “but we’re not going to make any deals with you or impose extremely high tariffs on you.”
“I could care less. Your mind will be racing. You won’t be involved in a conflict. It was finished in around five hours. It was finished. I’m not sure, but it might start again now. Not in my opinion. But if it does, I’ll stop it. We must not allow these things to occur,” he continued.
Trump has repeatedly asserted that he mediated a peace agreement between India and Pakistan, bringing an end to the two countries’ four-day military confrontation in May. However, India has consistently insisted that the de-escalation was carried out without the involvement of any external parties.
Today, additional 25% tariffs will be implemented
On Wednesday, August 27, at 9.30 am, the additional 25% tariffs on India will take effect. A 25% tariff on India was previously imposed by the Trump administration, which cited trade imbalance and India’s choice to purchase Russian oil.
Overall, India is subject to a 50% tariff imposed by the Trump administration
The levies have been deemed “unfair, unjustified, and unreasonable” by India. In addition, the Center promised to safeguard the nation’s interests while briefing the Parliament on the tariffs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that although the “pressure may increase” on India, he will safeguard the nation’s interests while speaking at a function in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Monday.
“My government will never allow farmers, small business owners, or animal caretakers to suffer any harm. He had declared, “We will continue to build up our strength to withstand no matter how much pressure comes.”
