Bruce stated during Friday’s press conference that the United States is closely monitoring the issue.

A representative for the State Department referenced the transcript of the discussion between US State Secretary Marco Rubio, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday.

“We’re keeping a careful eye on everything. The Secretary had a conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar yesterday. She said, “The United States stands strong with India against terrorism, and Prime Minister Modi has our full support,” as President Donald Trump told Prime Minister Modi last week.

To preserve long-term peace and regional stability in South Asia, the Secretary urged both nations to strive toward a reasonable conclusion. As I said, we are still in communication with both nations’ administrations on several levels,” she continued.

Bruce said, “We are asking for a responsible resolution from both parties” when asked whether the de-escalation calls were being followed. Other than that, I am unable to provide you with any other information.”

Following the horrific incident in Pahalgam on April 22, in which Pakistan-sponsored terrorists murdered 26 people—mostly tourists—and maimed several more, there has been an increase in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (Loc) in Jammu and Kashmir.

In response to Pakistan’s assistance for cross-border terrorism, India has taken several actions against it, such as halting the Indus Water Treaty and shutting the Integrated Check Post at Attari. India has likewise decided to reduce High Commissions’ authority.

The government has granted the military total operational autonomy to choose how to react to the terror incident in Pahalgam. The Indian Army successfully countered the Pakistan Army’s unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control.

According to authorities, the Army reacted quickly to the ceasefire breach that occurred in the vicinity of the districts of Kupwara and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on the evening of April 27–28.

According to authorities, during the night of April 26–27, the Indian Army successfully retaliated against Pakistan Army fire along the Line of Control in regions across from the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors.

Following the terror assault in Pahalgam, security personnel have stepped up their anti-terror efforts in the Kashmir valley.
