“BREAKING: A direct hit has been reported at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel,” Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on X. More information will be provided later.

The IDF also announced that a missile assault had struck a hospital in southern Israel. “A number of hits were identified as a result of the missile barrage—one of them hitting the largest hospital in southern Israel,” the IDF said in a post on X. We’ll provide more information later.

The IDF issued the statement in reaction to a post it posted on X, in which it said that a missile launch from Iran was causing millions of Israelis to flee for cover as sirens sounded.

“Millions of Israelis across the country are currently running to shelter as sirens sound due to a missile launch from Iran,” the IDF said on X.

The air force had earlier sparked a “wave of attacks” in Tehran and other Iranian cities, according to the IDF. According to an IDF post on X, “The Air Force has now begun a wave of attacks in Tehran and other areas in Iran.”

For their own protection, the IDF requested that citizens of Iran’s cities of Arak and Khondab leave. The IDF stated it is acting in the region, targeting Iranian military facilities, in a statement released in Farsi.

The seventh day of the Israeli-Iranian confrontation began. The war between the two countries began when Israel launched a major bombing known as “Operation Rising Lion” against Iranian military and nuclear targets on June 13. According to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) responded by launching a massive drone and missile operation called “Operation True Promise 3” that targeted Israeli fighter aircraft fuel manufacturing sites and energy supply centers.

According to CNN, the IDF announced in a statement on Wednesday that it carried out a “series of strikes” on more than 20 military locations in Tehran, including establishments connected to Iran’s nuclear program and missile manufacturing.

60 Israeli Air Force fighter planes “struck weapons production sites, centrifuge production sites, as well as research and development sites of the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons development project” in the last few hours, according to the IDF.

The statement said, “These sites were designated to allow the Iranian regime to expand the scale and pace of its uranium enrichment purpose of developing nuclear weapons.” CNN said.

According to the IDF, the most recent attacks also targeted “sites for the production of Iran’s air defense systems, as well as factories producing raw materials and components for missile assembly.”
