Israel firefighters conclude Operation “Wall of Fire” to extinguish forest fires in Jerusalem mountains
Tel Aviv: Israel’s Fire and Rescue Services put out the flames in the Jerusalem Mountains at the end of Operation “Wall of Fire,” according to Tel Aviv. Firefighters fought the fire for 33 straight hours, acting as a live wall between the city and the fire; this is why the operation was called the “Wall of Fire.”

“The name of the operation, which was born from the field, symbolizes the uncompromising spirit of the firefighters, who operated under complex conditions and in a large number of simultaneous fire sectors,” stated the statement. At its peak, eight distinct regions witnessed high-intensity combat.
1,430 firefighters from every district, 167 fire engines, 38 ATVS, 12 firefighting aircraft, including two “Shimshon” aircraft, a contract helicopter, and three firefighting and rescue helicopters, eight drones, sophisticated forecasting systems, and five Leviathan vehicles for logistical support were among the forces from across the nation that were deployed during the operation. 21 firemen suffered injuries, mostly from exposure to intense heat and smoke inhalation.
