Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has said that her brother will lead anti-government protests from jail
Islamabad: Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, said that her brother will spearhead the demonstration from prison and that he wants the party’s anti-government demonstration to “hit peak” on August 5, the day he serves out his two-year sentence, according to a report by Geo News.

Aleema Khan said on Tuesday that Imran Khan has instructed the PTI to launch its anti-government campaign after the 10th of Muharram.
Aleema Khan remarked, “Muharram 10 has passed […] the party will unveil its strategy now,” while addressing reporters at the Gorakhpur checkpoint. Khan said this after seeing Imran Khan at the Adiala prison in Rawalpindi with Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan.
She criticized the party leadership and said that Imran Khan would lead the demonstration from jail. According to Geo News, Khan claimed that he was free in prison while they were imprisoned outside.
“Our family is aware of the protest plan,” Aleema Khan said. She did not, however, disclose the specifics of the impending protest. PTI leaders will notify the media about the strategy when it is suitable, she said.
She said that PTI will choose and disclose the protest path, including whether it would start in Peshawar and go to Lahore. She said that the next demonstration will include Imran Khan’s whole family.
According to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan made it clear that anybody who couldn’t bear the weight of the political movement would have to resign.
According to her, the Punjab Assembly suspended 26 PTI legislators in order to “appease [Punjab Chief Minister] Maryam Nawaz.”
Aleema Khan said that Imran Khan had been denied access to his doctor for the last ten months and that he and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were being held in solitary confinement. According to Geo News, she said that Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, was complicit in the restrictions placed on Khan.
Noreen Niazi, Imran Khan’s sister, told reporters that her brother was doing well. She said, however, that Imran Khan had been denied access to any reading materials, including newspapers and television, for the last week by the prison administration.
According to the article, PTI spokesman Sheikh Waqas Akram said last week that his party initially postponed the statewide rallies because of the Israeli-Iranian confrontation, and then they did so out of respect for the days of Muharram.
According to a PTI official, districts and provinces will host the first round of demonstrations. He said that the PTI employees shouldn’t be exposed to live gunfire in answer to a query. He said, “When the first bullet was fired, the PTI founder won.”
