Five soldiers injured in shooting at Georgia Fort Stewart military base
Georgia: A shooting incident at the Fort Stewart military facility in southeast Georgia has left five troops wounded. This information was obtained from the base’s official social media post. The Fort provided this information in an official social media post. Quornelius Radford, an automated logistics sergeant, has been identified as the suspect, according to John Lubas, the 3rd Infantry Division’s Commanding General. Radford used his own firearm to assault his fellow troops.

“I can confirm that it was not a military weapon,” Lubas said at a news briefing on Wednesday (local time). We think it was a personal handgun. “Army investigators have questioned him, and we think we will get more information soon,” he said, adding that “we are not fully aware of the motive yet.” The gunman was previously detained in the area for driving under the influence, according to news agency Xinhua.
Together, the FBI is conducting an investigation
At 11:04 a.m. (local time), the base was placed on lockdown, and it was fully released in the afternoon. According to Fort, the wounded troops received immediate medical attention before being transported to Winn Army Community Hospital. By lunchtime, all of the wounded were stable and expected to recover, according to officials. Fort Stewart is the biggest army installation east of the Mississippi River, located around 64 kilometers southwest of Savannah. The Army’s Criminal Investigation Branch is collaborating closely with the FBI’s Savannah office, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Atlanta said on social media. The incident’s inquiry is still ongoing.
Commotion at Burger King
On social media, a video of this occurrence has been shared. The evacuation of military men from the site was seen on camera. The manager of the Burger King restaurant on the site reportedly told the BBC that he quickly sheltered his employees in a secure area after the lockdown. For such circumstances, this enclosed chamber is intended to provide total seclusion from the outer world.
