External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a meeting with Netherlands Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans
The Hague: Netherlands Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Monday in The Hague and discussed their respective security concerns and perspectives.

Speaking with members of the Indian community, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the community’s role in fostering closer ties between the two countries.

“This evening, I spoke with leaders of the Indian community. Appreciate the community’s role in strengthening ties between India and the Netherlands,” Jaishankar wrote on X.
In a previous meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, Jaishankar expressed gratitude for the nation’s vehement denunciation of the Pahalgam terror assault on April 22 and its endorsement of a zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.
According to Jaishankar, he and Veldkamp spoke about strengthening their bilateral ties and involvement with the EU.
“Thank you for having me at The Hague today, FM Caspar Veldkamp of the Netherlands. I appreciate how strongly the Netherlands condemned the incident in Pahalgam. as well as backing for zero tolerance in the fight against terrorists. have extensive conversations on strengthening our involvement and bilateral partnership with the EU. shared opinions on the status of the world in a time of multipolarity,” the EAM said on X.
Jaishankar also spoke with Hague strategic experts during his tour. According to him, they spoke on the need for India and the EU to interact more at a time of strategic autonomy and multipolarity.
“A good exchange of views with strategic experts in the Hague this morning,” Jaishankar said in a post on X. He discussed the need for further engagement between India and the Netherlands/EU at a time of strategic autonomy and multipolarity.
Jaishankar will go to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany from May 19 to 24, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
According to the press release, “During the visit, EAM will meet the leadership of the three countries and hold discussions with his counterparts on the entire gamut of bilateral relations and regional and global matters of mutual interest.”
