Donald Trump expressed his support to PM Modi and the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir
Washington, DC: On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump made it clear that he supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the victims of the terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Trump said that he supported India’s efforts to combat terrorism.

He posted on Truth Social, saying, “Very alarming news from Kashmir. India and the United States are united in their fight against terrorism. We offer our prayers for the deceased’s souls as well as the healing of the wounded. We extend our sincere condolences and complete support to Prime Minister Modi and the amazing people of India. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed US support for India.
The horrific deaths of visitors and people in the state were denounced by the US Department of State.
Rubio wrote, “The United States stands with India” in a post on X.
The Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the State Department said it was keeping an eye on the situation and demanded that those responsible be held accountable.
“The United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Kashmir,” said a post on X. There is no excuse for such a horrible crime that kills both tourists and civilians. Those who have lost loved ones are in our thoughts. We keep an eye on the issue and demand that those responsible be held accountable.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Trump has been informed by the National Security Adviser on the incident and is scheduled to discuss it with Prime Minister Modi later today.
“The National Security Adviser has informed the President about the terrorist act that occurred in India earlier today. As new information becomes available, he is kept informed. We already know that a vicious terrorist assault at a well-known tourist destination in South Kashmir claimed the lives of scores of people and wounded many more,” she added.
According to Leavitt, the phone conversation would reaffirm US support for India, an ally.
“President Trump will be speaking with Prime Minister Modi as soon as he possibly can to express his heartfelt condolences for those lost and our prayers are with those injured and our nation’s support for our ally India,” she said.
Leavitt went on to denounce terrorism, saying that these kinds of occurrences are what keep peacekeeping operations going.
“Those of us who strive for global peace and stability carry out our task because of terrorists’ heinous acts. Later this afternoon, we will provide you with a summary of that conversation,” she said.
To find the attackers, the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have begun a search in the Baisran, Pahalgam, and Anantnag general region. Locals protested the terrorist assault on tourists in Pahalgam by holding candle marches in a number of locations around Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman abruptly ended their international trips.
