A disproportionate police force was used in an obvious effort to quell protest; in addition to harassing the public, they illegally detained three regular people and took them to the police station without cause. Through political education, collective action, and grassroots mobilization, BYC will keep exposing and opposing the continuing state repression and the genocide of the Baloch people.
Enforced disappearances continue to be a troubling trend in the Balochistan area; some victims are finally freed, while others are subjected to targeted murders or prolonged captivity. Localsโ rising sense of unease and distrust has been fueled by these abuses of basic rights.
Balochistan is still unstable due to the ongoing dread of arbitrary arrests and the lack of accountability, which undermines attempts to bring about justice, peace, and public trust in government institutions.
