Uttarakhand government resumed helicopter services for Char Dham Yatra

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government announced on Saturday that the helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra have commenced and are running smoothly. Services to the four Dhams, including Badrinath and Kedarnath, are available from all helipads, including the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun, State Director General of Information Bansidhar Tiwari informed the media report.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on X that the Char Dham Yatra is going well and that more than 4 lakh pilgrims have already visited the holy sites.

“Dear Followers, The state is conducting the Chardham Yatra without incident. Over 4 lakh devotees have visited the Dhams so far. Additionally, the heli services for Shri Kedarnath Dham are completely functional. It is suggested that you disregard any rumors,” he stated on X.

“The state government works hard to ensure that your trip is secure and easy. You may contact helplines 1364 and 0135-1364 for any information or support. #CharDhamYatra2025,” he said.

CM Dhami said, “Our government is continuously working to make the journey smooth, safe, and well-organized.” He added that many devotees go to Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, each year for the Char Dham Yatra.

In the midst of Vedic chanting and ceremonies, the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on Akshaya Tritiya opened on April 30, marking the formal start of the Char Dham Yatra 2025. On May 2, Kedarnath Dham’s doors opened, followed by Badrinath’s on May 4.

An official on Monday announced a 24-hour ban on the use of horses and mules in the Kedarnath Yatra. The following reported horse and mule fatalities were considered by the government.

Six horses and mules perished today, compared to eight yesterday. We were interested in finding out why. According to BVRC Purushottam, Secretary, Animal Husbandry (Uttarakhand), a team from the Center would also visit tomorrow to investigate the cause of fatalities.
