A ‘Tiranga Yatra’ is being led by the Uttarakhand chief minister and BJP members from Mini Stadium to Shaheed Park in Haldwani.
At a Council of Ministers meeting earlier Friday, a unanimous resolution congratulating the Indian Army, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Ministry of Defense on the historic success of Operation Sindoor was approved.
“Operation Sindoor reflects the success of the indomitable courage, immense valor, and excellent strategic skills of the Indian Army,” the Council of Ministers’ decision said. This campaign has become a real-life manifestation of India’s security, sovereignty, and self-assurance.
The Council of Ministers further conveyed their belief that this momentous military action would serve as a source of motivation for future generations and will be remembered as a defining moment in Indian military history.
The BJP’s ‘Tiranga Yatra’ will run till May 23 after starting on May 13. The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was organized by the BJP across states including Odisha, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Dibrugarh, and Srinagar.
The purpose of the gathering was to express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian military for Operation Sindoor’s success.
Indian troops have stepped up their campaign against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the Pahalgam terror incident, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including a Nepali citizen.
India conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7 in reprisal for the terror assault. During this operation, almost 100 terror operators were killed in strategic sites in Pakistan, and precise attacks damaged militant infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK). Among the objectives were Muridke, a crucial Lashkar training facility, and Bhawalpur, the Jaish headquarters. Following this, an agreement to end hostilities between India and Pakistan was declared on May 10.
