Tamil Nadu: At least five people died in a collision between a bus and a van
Thanjavur: An accident between a private tempo van and a government bus claimed the lives of at least five individuals. According to Thanjavur District Collector Priyanka Balasubramanian, the accident happened on Wednesday night close to the Sengkippatti bridge on the Thanjavur-Tiruchirapalli national highway.

Five workers were killed and one was critically hurt in a rockslide at a Mega Blue Metal stone quarry at Mallakottai, close to SS Kottai, earlier on May 20 in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu.
M. K. Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, sent his sympathies to the families of the dead and expressed his profound sadness over the awful event.
“Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin expressed his deepest sympathies to the families and relatives of the deceased,” the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office stated in an official statement. Additionally, he declared that the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to the wounded worker and Rs. 4 lakh apiece to the relatives of the dead.
The Chief Minister also gave authorities instructions to guarantee that Michael, the wounded worker, gets first-rate medical care.
