RBI recognised as most innovative financial institution globally by Global Finance

Mumbai: In a post on X, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that it has been named the Most Innovative Financial Institution in the world by Global Finance’s esteemed 2025 Innovators list. The RBI is the first central bank to get this honour, making it a historic accomplishment.

The Unified Lending Interface (ULI) of the bank, which has greatly improved lender data access and credit assistance and promoted better efficiency and inclusiveness in India’s financial ecosystem, is highlighted in the award.

“RBI has been named the Most Innovative Financial Institution globally by @GFmag in its 2025 Innovators list!” the central bank said in a post on the microblogging platform X. Because of its Unified Lending Interface, which improves lender data access and credit assistance, RBI is the first central bank to win.

The twelfth annual awards programme of Global Finance honours organisations that consistently forge new avenues and provide innovative financial instruments.

“Advances like mobile and real-time payments, blockchain technology, and emerging AI solutions are rapidly transforming traditional banking, making financial services more efficient, secure, and accessible,” stated Joseph Giarraputo, Global Finance’s founder and editorial director.

“Global Finance’s Innovators are at the forefront of this transformation and are leading the way to the future of finance,” he said.

The editorial board of Global Finance made all of the choices with the help of reporters who are knowledgeable about the roles that these innovators are playing.

The Central Bank of London chose the RBI for the Digital Transformation Award 2025 in March of last month.

The Pravaah and Sarthi systems, which were created by the internal development team, were among the projects for which RBI received awards and recognition.
