Rajnath Singh on Operation Sindoor: Opposition’s questions “do not adequately represent our national sentiments”
New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Parliament Monday afternoon that the opposition’s inquiries over the number of fighter planes shot down by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor “do not adequately represent our national sentiments.”

The defense minister chastised the opposition in an hour-long speech for just criticizing India’s military reaction to the terror assault in Pahalgam, saying that the real concerns were “did India destroy terrorist bases… how many enemy aircraft were shot down…”
“Some opposition members have been inquiring about ‘how many of our planes were shot down?’ Their question, in my opinion, does not accurately reflect the emotions of our country. “They haven’t inquired about the number of enemy planes we destroyed,” Mr. Singh said.
“If a question must be asked, it ought to be, ‘Did India destroy terrorist bases?'” And “yes” is the response to it. ‘Was Operation Sindoor a success?’ should be their query if they have one. And “yes!” is the response. “Were terrorist leaders killed?” should be their question. The response is “yes!”
“And if you still have questions, ‘were any of our brave soldiers harmed in this mission?'” “No, none of our soldiers suffered any injuries,” Mr. Singh roared.
