Rajasthan: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma warmly welcomes JD Vance and his family
Jaipur: On Tuesday, U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance, and their kids visited the Amber Fort in Jaipur, where Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari welcomed them with open arms.

JD Vance, who is on a four-day visit to India, was joined by his family as they went on a cultural excursion to Jaipur on Tuesday. They received a traditional Rajasthani welcome at the Fort’s gate, complete with dancers and exquisitely ornamented elephants.

In a post on X, Sharma said, “It was an honor to welcome the Vice President of the USA, Mr. JD Vance, along with his family, to the historic Amer Fort in Jaipur today.”
JD Vance, who is on a four-day visit to India, was joined by his family as they went on a cultural excursion to Jaipur on Tuesday.
The Vance family left the Rambagh Palace, where they were lodging, and arrived at the Amber Fort early in the morning.
The Amber Fort in Jaipur welcomed the Vance family with great vigor and warmth. A traditional Rajasthani dance performance welcomed them.
Amber Fort is located just behind Jaigarh Fort in the Aravalli mountains’ valley. The Kachhwaha Rajputs had Amber as their capital before moving to Jaipur. The Susawat Meena tribe was originally in charge of Amber. The Kachhwaha dynasty was established in the Dhundhar region in the eleventh century by Dulahrai (Dhola), son of Sodhadeva. The Meenas relinquished control of Amber to his son, Kakil Dev.
At the end of the 16th century, Raja Man Singh I began building the new royal complex. Following Raja Man Singh I, Mirza Raja Jai Singh I and Sawai Jai Singh II sometimes made adjustments to suit the situation. In accordance with their own preferences, they also altered the interior design. There were four phases to the construction of the complete fort.
JD Vance and his family had been to the Central Cottage Industries Emporium in New Delhi the day before.
The US Vice President and his family also visited the Akshardham Temple in the national capital on Monday morning, immediately after their arrival.
Their daughter donned an Anarkali-style ensemble with an embroidered jacket, while their kids wore kurta-pyjamas.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways and Information & Broadcasting, greeted Vance and his family as they touched down at Palam Airport. Vance’s first official visit to India began when he was also presented with a ceremonial Guard of Honor.
On the first day of his trip to India, the US vice president referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “great leader” and said it was an “honor” to meet him.
Vance and his family are scheduled to go to Agra on Wednesday. At 6:40 a.m. on April 24, the US vice president departs India, bringing their tour of India to a close.
