In many operations around Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Ferozepur, BSF personnel acting on specific information seized 3.57 kg of heroin and three Pakistani drones in a significant victory over cross-border narcotrafficking. 01 Indian drug trafficker was also caught,” Punjab Frontier’s public relations officer said in a statement on Sunday night.

The PRO also said that 1.029 kg of heroin was recovered early this morning (Sunday) in the hamlet of Habibwala, Ferozepur, as a result of a combined BSF-Punjab Police operation. “A local smugger, linked to a Pakistan-based handler, was also apprehended,” said the PRO.

“In continued action against narco-drones, vigilant BSF troops recovered 03 DJI Mavic-3 Classic drones from fields near Rajatal, Amritsar; Gatti Rajoke, Ferozepur; and Daoke, Amritsar, respectively, along with 545 grams of heroin near Dal village of Tarn Taran,” stated a statement.

The PRO said that the coordination of BSF intelligence, tech-enabled defense, and prompt response by BSF and Punjab Police had once again thwarted efforts by Pakistan-backed narco-networks and that all drones are thought to have crashed as a result of electronic countermeasures placed along the border.

In Punjab’s Amritsar area, soldiers from the BSF earlier on April 14 found a drone and a package containing a weapon and ammo, according to an official.

It also said that the cross-border terror syndicate’s evil plans to transport weapons and ammunition from the other side of the border were once again thwarted by strong technological countermeasures and the prompt response of the vigilant BSF personnel.

According to sources, the BSF ambushed several suspected drug traffickers in a border hamlet in the Amritsar district on April 12 at night after receiving a tip from the BSF Intelligence Unit.
