PM Modi holds meeting with Defence Minister, CDS and Chiefs of Armed Forces at his residence
New Delhi: At his home in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with the heads of the Indian Armed Forces, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The conference followed India’s early-morning Saturday airstrike on four Pakistani airbases in retaliation for Pakistan’s assault on 26 Indian targets.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Colonel Sophia Qureshi, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri gave media briefings earlier today on the latest events amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The steps Pakistan is taking against India are seen as “escalatory” and “provocative” in character, Vikram Misri said. He made the comments during a press conference on Saturday, when evidence of Pakistan’s aggressive and escalated acts was shown along with the falsehoods that Pakistan was spreading.
The Foreign Secretary told the media, “Pakistan’s actions constituted provocation and escalation.” India responded by defending itself and acting responsibly and calmly.
India vehemently condemned Pakistan’s nefarious disinformation effort, which made fabricated claims that vital Indian military facilities and assets had been destroyed.
Speaking at the joint press conference, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh emphasized Pakistan’s efforts to disseminate false information regarding, among other things, the damage done to the S-400 system at Adhampur, the airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, the Brahmos space at Nagrota, and the artillery-gun positions in Dehrangyari and Chandigarh.
She emphasized that India categorically denies these lies, which are a part of a larger plan to discredit India’s military might and instill fear among the populace.
Singh said that in addition to the disinformation campaign, Pakistan has intensified its military operations along the Line of Control (LoC), attempting several drone-assisted air intrusions and using heavy-caliber artillery guns for shelling, endangering civilian infrastructure and causing civilian casualties.
On Saturday, reports of cross-border shooting and heavy shelling came from a number of locations along the Pakistani border.
