PM Modi gifted holy water of Maha Kumbh and a replica of Ram Mandir to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain: On Thursday (local time), Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a replica of the Ram Mandir and sacred water from the Sangam and Saryu Rivers from Mahakumbh to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago.

In his Thursday speech to the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the historical and cultural significance of Bihar, commended the bravery of the Indian diaspora, and referred to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as the “daughter of Bihar” as he recalled her ancestry in the state and asked her to provide water from the Sarayu and the Mahakumbh to the Ganga Dhara in the Caribbean nation.

The ancestral home of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad & Tobago was Buxar, Bihar. Kamala ji has been there herself. “She is regarded as a Bihar daughter,” PM Modi said.

“As everyone is aware, the Mahakumbh, the biggest religious assembly in the world, was held earlier this year. It is an honor for me to be carrying water from the Mahakumbh. Here, I ask Kamala ji to give the Ganga dhara the sacred waters of the Sarayu River and Mahakumbh,” he said.

Speaking at the Indian community gathering in Trinidad and Tobago was Kamla Persad-Bissessar. In 2012, she had previously been to Bhelupur, her family hamlet in the Buxar district’s Itarhi block.

Along with 38 ministers and four members of the Caribbean nation’s parliament, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar welcomed PM Modi at Piarco International Airport on Thursday (local time) to begin his first official visit to Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition to being the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to the Caribbean island since 1999, this is PM Modi’s first trip there as prime minister. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, invited the visit.

Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, emphasized Trinidad and Tobago’s strong relationship with India, pointing out that 45% of its people are Indian.

“On a historic visit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago, the nation’s capital. Prime Minister Kamala Prasad Bissessar and her other Cabinet members greeted him at the airport today. For India, this visit is significant as it is the first PM-level visit to occur in 26 years. Of the 13 lakh individuals who call this nation home, 45% are of Indian descent, according to Jaiswal.

The majority of the 45% of individuals of Indian descent, according to Jaiswal, are from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
“India and T&T have a very unique and strong connection. The majority of the 45% of the population that call this place home are from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The majority of these individuals are from districts that speak Bhojpuri, such as Chhapra, Ara, Ballia, Siwan, Gopalganj, Banaras, Azamgarh, etc.,” Jaiswal said.
