PM Modi arrives at a hotel in Brasilia, welcomed by NRIs

Brasilia: On Monday (local time), Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at a hotel in Brasilia and met and spoke with members of the Indian diaspora.

To greet PM Modi, Indian community members had gathered outside the hotel with Indian flags. Children who gathered to greet PM Modi also engaged with him.

When PM Modi arrived at the hotel in Brasilia, he saw a cultural performance. After the artists’ performances were over, he spoke with them and expressed his appreciation.

At the hotel, PM Modi also saw a spiritual performance. In order to greet him at the hotel, he also snapped a photo with the performers.

As part of his state visit to Brazil, Prime Minister Modi landed in Brasilia on Monday night (local time). He was met at the airport by Jose Mucio Monteiro Filho, Brazil’s Minister of Defense.

The performers welcomed PM Modi with a classic Brazilian samba reggae performance, which he loved. After attending the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6–7, he landed in Brasilia. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva invited Modi to visit his country.

Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said, X: “Making fresh progress in India-Brazil’s unwavering cooperation. As part of his state visit to Brazil, Prime Minister @narendramodi has arrived in Brasilia. The Brazilian Minister of Defense, Mr. Jose Mucio Monteiro Filho, welcomed him at the airport. The traditional Samba Reggae performance from Brazil added a lovely musical element to the greeting.

According to a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement, PM Modi will meet with Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in bilateral talks to expand the strategic partnership between the two countries in areas of shared interest, such as trade, defense, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people ties.

PM Modi called the portion of his trip to Brazil that took place in Rio de Janeiro “productive.” He said that at the BRICS Summit, he and other leaders engaged in lengthy discussions. According to PM Modi, India’s friendships with other countries would grow as a result of his bilateral encounters with foreign leaders.

On the social networking site X, PM Modi posted a video of himself attending the BRICS Summit and having one-on-one talks with international leaders. Additionally, the movie demonstrated how the Indian diaspora welcomed PM Modi to Rio de Janeiro.

PM Modi said, “The Rio portion of my Brazil visit was very productive,” as he posted the video on X. At the BRICS Summit, we engaged in lengthy discussions. I commend President Lula and the Brazilian government for their efforts to further enhance the effectiveness of this platform during their BRICS presidency. Additionally, my bilateral engagements with foreign leaders would strengthen India’s ties with other countries.

“Currently en route to Brasilia for the official visit. PM Modi wrote on X that he will have in-depth discussions with President Lula on several facets of India-Brazil relations.

Earlier, during the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, PM Modi gathered for the customary family portrait with other BRICS leaders, partners, and outreach invitees.

Following the conclusion of his visit to Argentina, where he met bilaterally with Argentine President Javier Milei, PM Modi landed in Brazil on Saturday (local time). On July 9, PM Modi will go to Namibia after Brazil and speak to the country’s parliament.
