PIB debunks several fake claims made by various Pakistani social media accounts
New Delhi: Amid the increasing tensions between the two nations, the Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) fact-checking team has refuted several false statements made by different Pakistani social media accounts. In a recent development, the PIB’s fact-checking team refuted reports that Pakistani strikes had damaged the Bathinda airstrip.

The Bathinda airstrip is completely functioning and has not sustained any damage, according to PIB’s ‘X’ bulletin.
“Posts alleging that the Bhatinda Airfield has been destroyed are being distributed in a fake manner! Posts claiming that the Bhatinda Airfield has been demolished are being fabricated. The Bathinda Airfield is completely functional and undamaged. Avoid falling for false information. “Remain informed and vigilant,” the message said.
Following India’s precision missile attacks on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of Operation Sindoor, the Pakistani side has launched a propaganda campaign against India.
With a flurry of falsehoods and digital theatrics, it demonstrates Pakistan’s frantic effort to change the subject.
Pakistan’s state-affiliated accounts have resorted to their tried-and-true strategy of reusing old photos, distorting old videos, and making up entirelye-up claims in order to quickly and massively fill the information space with lies, making it hard to tell fact from fiction.
Pakistan’s nefarious disinformation effort, which falsely claimed the loss of vital Indian military infrastructure and assets, was sharply denounced by India on Saturday.
Speaking at a joint Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence press conference on Operation Sindoor, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh cited Pakistan’s efforts to disseminate false information regarding, among other things, the damage done to the S-400 system at Adhampur, the airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, the Brahmos space at Nagrota, and the artillery-gun positions in Dehrangyari and Chandigarh.
She emphasized that India categorically denies these lies, which are a part of a larger plan to discredit India’s military might and instill fear among the populace.
