On International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Modi advocates for “inner peace to be a global policy.”
Visakhapatnam: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the world community to adopt “inner peace” as a “global policy” and make yoga a worldwide duty.

During the 11th International Day of Yoga festivities in Visakhapatnam, the Prime Minister urged nations to embrace yoga as a uniting force for mankind, rather than only as a cultural or personal practice.
“I want to use this significant occasion to encourage the international world to allow this International Yoga Day to serve as the launchpad for Yoga for Humanity. Let today be the day when yoga is accepted as a potent instrument for international cooperation and togetherness and when inner peace becomes a universal policy. The prime minister said, “Let yoga become a shared responsibility and a common contribution toward collective well-being in every nation and society.”
The celebration was made much more spectacular by the presence of Indian Navy ships positioned close to the picturesque Visakhapatnam coastline. Thousands of Andhra Pradesh people, yoga aficionados, and dignitaries joined PM Modi.
PM Modi called for a worldwide yoga movement, saying, “Come, let’s all work together to make yoga a mainstream movement. a global movement that promotes harmony, health, and peace. where everyone achieves harmony in life and begins their day with yoga. where all societies are stress-free and linked to yoga. where yoga serves as a means of uniting people. And the worldwide answer is Yoga For One Earth, One Health.
The Prime Minister began his speech by wishing everyone a happy International Yoga Day, which has been observed for 11 years since the UN declared June 21 to be the world’s day for yoga in 2014.
“Yoga teaches us that we are not isolated individuals; we are an integral part of nature,” PM stated in a statement about the importance yoga plays in fostering human connections with nature and one another. Initially, it assists us in managing our own health and well-being. But with time, this consciousness grows, and we start to care about our surroundings, our society, and our world in addition to ourselves. ‘Me’ to ‘We’ is the path that yoga leads us.
The prime minister also commended the Andhra Pradesh government’s efforts and gave particular appreciation to Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Jana Sena Party, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for organizing the event. He referred to their leadership as “inspiring” and viewed the state’s yoga promotion program as “commendable.”
“Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, physical ability, background, or limits. It is an all-encompassing gift that binds people together in peace, health, and awareness. Friends, I’m very happy we’re all here in Visakhapatnam, a city that masterfully combines modernity and environment. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for organizing such a fantastic occasion under your motivating direction. The state of Andhra Pradesh’s significant effort to promote yoga is praiseworthy,” PM Modi stated.
The Prime Minister also discussed how more than 170 nations quickly endorsed India’s 2014 request to designate June 21 as International Yoga Day at the UN. Since then, he said, yoga has spread around the globe as a symbol of harmony, balance, and collaboration. Thousands of individuals from several states participated in this year’s festivities.
