Indian Army effectively responded to unprovoked small arms fire by Pakistan Army
Jammu: On the evenings of 30 April and May 1, the Indian Army successfully repelled unprovoked small weapons fire from the Pakistan Army across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) as well as in regions across from Kupwara district, according to authorities.

The Indian Army claims that its forces reacted to the Pakistan Army’s unjustified small weapons fire with promptness and efficiency.
Since the Pakistan Army’s unprovoked small arms fire on the night of 25–26, India has effectively retaliated for seven days in a row.
Earlier, in the Jammu region’s Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors, the Indian Army successfully repelled Pakistan’s small weapons fire across the Line of Control.
Similar ceasefire breaches were also reported farther north in the districts of Baramulla and Kupwara, as well as across the International Border (IB) in the Pargwal sector, according to later reports.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), India on Wednesday closed its airspace to all aircraft registered in Pakistan and those flown by Pakistani airlines. The closure was a significant move in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which claimed 26 lives.
India confirmed Wednesday in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that any Pakistani-registered, operated, or leased aircraft, including military flights, would not be allowed to use its airspace from April 30 to May 23 (estimated period).
The neighboring nation had previously declared this action six days before, and both India and Pakistan have now prohibited each other’s planes from utilizing their airspace.
Following the Pahalgam terror assault, security forces have stepped up anti-terror operations in the Kashmir valley, and the government has granted the armed forces total operational autonomy to choose how to respond to the heinous act.
In response to Pakistan’s assistance for cross-border terrorism, India has taken several actions against it, such as halting the Indus Water Treaty and shutting the Integrated Check Post at Attari. India has likewise decided to reduce High Commissions’ authority.
