PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who is also the late leader’s son, attended the occasion.

During the occasion, Vikramaditya Singh told the media that it is crucial to recognize Virbhadra Singh’s work given the current state of Himachal Pradesh.

“Virbhadra Singh’s contribution to modern-day Himachal Pradesh must be remembered. Today, our party office organized a memorial ceremony, and yesterday, the historic Ridge Ground hosted a professional boxing competition in his honor,” Vikramaditya Singh said.

Singh stated that this year’s death anniversary has religious importance and would be celebrated in line with Hindu customs at their ancestral home in Rampur on Monday, marking four years since Virbhadra Singh’s demise.

“His death occurred four years ago. This year is important from a religious perspective. We will commemorate this by holding a memorial service and ceremonies at Rampur, our ancestral home, tomorrow. The Chief Minister, senior Congress leaders, and other dignitaries have been invited,” Vikramaditya said.

He said that the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh is dedicated to following the course that Virbhadra Singh established and that his legacy continues to serve as a compass.

“Everyone finds inspiration in his contribution. Our common goal is to advance inclusive development and respect throughout Himachal, especially in the green belt areas. The minister said, “We shall continue his ambition for Himachal.

A statue of Virbhadra Singh has already been erected at a key site as part of the continuous commemoration activities. Top Congress leadership, including the Chief Minister and other senior politicians, are expected to attend its formal introduction on July 15 at a non-political ceremony.

“The statue is now in place. On July 15, it will be formally revealed. The Chief Minister and other senior members of our party will be in attendance. This event isn’t political. He said that Virbhadra Singh always put Himachal’s wellbeing ahead of politics.

Even opposition figures, including as former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, have been asked to participate in the remembrance, Vikramaditya Singh emphasized.

“Everyone, even opposition leaders, has been invited. He said, “This is a time to honor and commemorate the legacy of someone who served the state without expecting anything in return.

He made an impassioned plea to the members and staff of Congress for their support.

“Virbhadra Singh may not be physically here with us anymore, but his philosophy and vision endure. He showed us the way, and we shall march forth with all our bravery and power. You are all members of our extended family, and we will always support your voice and dignity,” Vikramaditya Singh stated.
