Gujarat: CM Bhupendra Patel paid tribute to the bodies of father and son killed in Pahalgam terror attack
Bhavnagar: The lifeless remains of Yatish Parmar and Sumit Parmar, a father and son team who died in Tuesday’s terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, were returned to their home in Bhavnagar on Thursday morning amid sobs and sadness. The tragic incident on Tuesday claimed the lives of 26 innocent people, including the two victims.

Once their mortal remains arrived, the air was filled with a flood of emotion as friends, family, and acquaintances conveyed their deep sorrow and sympathies during this trying time.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also at the Parmar Residence, where he comforted the family members and offered last condolences to the victims of the horrific incident.
A victim’s family claims that on April 16, Prashant Nathani, his brother-in-law, and his nephew made a trip to the Kashmir valley. They were supposed to remain there for 15 days in order to hear Morari Bapu’s katha.
Nathani went on to say that his nephew and brother-in-law were shot dead by terrorists after they were apprehended while touring at Baisaran Meadow on Tuesday morning. At five in the morning on Wednesday, the family was informed of their passing.
“Our brother-in-law and nephew were there when the event occurred, and they fled the scene and walked outside. Both the brother-in-law and the nephew were victims of a terrorist strike. On April 16, they departed from here with the intention of remaining for 15 days. After spending 15 days there to hear Morari Bapu’s Katha, they departed yesterday morning to go sightseeing. Terrorists apprehended them and shot them outside the hotel as soon as they left for sightseeing. We learned about this occurrence at 5 a.m. today after receiving this news last evening. After everything is over, the federal government will transfer their dead remains to us,” he told the media report.
Gujarat Chief Minister Patel previously announced an ex-gratia payment for the incident’s victims on social media of X: Rs 50,000 for the wounded and Rs 5 lakhs for the deceased’s family.
“The families of those killed in the terrorist assault on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, have the deepest sympathies of the Gujarat government. The families of the Gujarati tourists killed in this incident would get Rs 5 lakh in aid from the state government, while the wounded tourists from the state will receive Rs 50,000, said Chief Minister Patel.

Terrorists carried out one of the bloodiest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama incident, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans, at Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday. Following the repeal of Article 370 in 2019, the incident was among the most significant acts of terrorism in the area.
