Director Suneel Darshan: ‘Animal’ is a copy of this Akshay Kumar film

Mumbai: After its premiere, the Ranbir Kapoor film “Animal” made headlines. This film, which was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, attracted notice due to its many contentious conversations and very violent situations. The movie did well at the box office, but it also sparked a lot of debate. Numerous well-known individuals, such as Javed Akhtar, referred to it as a misogynistic film, which is why it was always in the news. However, when the movie first came out, it was likened to Akshay Kumar’s “Jaanwar.” Suneel Darshan, the film’s director, has now discussed the similarities between the two movies and accused Sandeep Reddy Vanga of stealing his work.

Suneel Darshan: My movies are being imitated

Suneel Darshan spoke on Animal and Jaanwar’s parallels in an interview with Bollywood Bubble. When asked whether he would want to see his films remade. “How can I make a remake?” was his reply. My films have been replicated by a lot of individuals. What is the English title of the movie Jaanwar? What’s the story behind it? Animal, have you seen it? Are you aware of the story? However, I am unable to make that assertion because of the director’s extremely different handling. He handled the movie very nicely, although it would have been preferable if the producer had come to terms with the reality.

I decided it would be best to say nothing. Suneel Darshan

“I felt it would be better to remain silent, because there have been other films like that, and they have proven to be big hits,” adds Suneel Darshan. Blockbuster movies are being created, and I feel like I’m influencing people. A very well-known celebrity has also made a movie that is comparable to mine. The author who purchased it is likewise well-known. That movie was a big success. Thus, if that movie is viewed, it’s a lot like my movie.

The Animal Story

‘Jaanwar’ (1999), starring Akshay Kumar, features Akshay as Babu, an orphan youngster. Everyone is terrified of Babu because he is a huge goon. Babu, meanwhile, resolves to leave the criminal world and start over after falling in love with Sapna (Karisma Kapoor). Sultan, however, is against this. In the meanwhile, something separates Babu and Sapna. Following all of this, Babu adopts a kid, but his new life is also in jeopardy as the past returns to haunt him. The film’s narrative centers on a father’s fortitude, remorse, and battle to let go of the past. One of the highest-grossing movies of 1999 was Jaanwar.
