Champai Soren accused the Hemant Soren-led state government of inaction over the “infiltration of Bangladeshi infiltrators”

Ranchi: The Hemant Soren-led State administration has been accused by BJP leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren of doing little to stop the “intrusion of Bangladeshi infiltrators” who have allegedly been using counterfeit Aadhaar cards that give residences in the State.

In a previous social media post on X, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya claimed that 13 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by the Mumbai Police for using phony Aadhaar cards while impersonating vendors in the Vikhroli market.

Police arrested 13 criminals from Bangladesh who were selling mangoes in Mumbai’s Vikhroli market. They obtained their Aadhaar cards in the Sahibganj area of Jharkhand by using fictitious addresses. All Aadhaar cards have the date of birth listed as 01/01, or January 1. In an April 28 X post, he claimed that these infiltrators had penetrated Ola Uber cab drivers, mango vendors, and coconut vendors in Mumbai.

Champai Soren told ANI on Monday that unregulated infiltration and forced religious conversions are posing a danger to the tribal community in areas like Sahebganj, Pakur, and Dumka in Jharkhand.

“What we spoke about three months ago is now coming to pass. 13 people were apprehended in Bombay using phony Aadhaar cards, adding, “Our campaign across various regions sends a clear message: the intrusion of Bangladeshi infiltrators must stop.”

He further said that the accused admitted to the crime of producing phony Aadhaar cards in the Sahebganj area of Jharkhand.

He accused the administration of ignoring the problem and not carrying out a comprehensive inquiry. “Yet, the state government remains silent, as if blindfolded and speechless,” Soren stated.

To preserve Adivasi interests, Soren said, the number of tribal people in regions covered by the Santhal Pargana Tenancy (SPT) Act was reduced.

“Tribal populations are now gradually declining in areas where they once made up over 47% due to increased infiltration by Bangladeshis.” The Adivasi people’s basic survival is under jeopardy now, despite the battle our forefathers waged to protect these lands for them,” he stated.

Furthermore, Soren expressed worry about coerced religious conversions, claiming that they were against Tribal Customs Law.

However, the very survival of Adivasis is in danger today, whether in Sahebganj, Pakur, or Dumka. Ironically, the state administration has shown little interest in conducting a thorough inquiry although the fraudulent Aadhaar cards discovered in Mumbai had connections to these same areas.

The problem of coerced religious conversions, which is against Tribal Customs Law, must also be addressed. Our identity, our country, and our future are at stake in this battle,” Soren said.
