An incident of cloudburst has been reported in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, flood-like situation has arisen in Rajouri-Mendhar
Jammu and Kashmir: In the Paddar subdivision of the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a report of a cloudburst. Near the Machail Mata shrine in Chishoti village of Paddar, there was a cloudburst. The region has seen flood-like conditions since the cloudburst occurrence. Following the tragedy, rescue efforts have begun immediately. In addition, reports of cloudbursts are also arriving from Kashmir’s Rajouri and Mendhar.

After learning about the occurrence, Modi government minister Jitendra Singh contacted local authorities and obtained information about it. He said that the government has immediately begun relief efforts.

“I spoke to Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma after receiving information from the LoP of Jammu and Kashmir and local MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma,” Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on social media. Cloudbursts in the Chosity region have the potential to cause a significant number of fatalities. The rescue crew has already departed for the location, and the government has sprung right into action.” The Union minister said that the required rescue and medical treatment procedures are being made, and the damage is being evaluated. All available assistance is being given, and my office receives frequent updates.
The outlet reports that Pankaj Sharma, the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, stated, “The Chashoti region of Kishtwar, the beginning place of the Machail Mata Yatra, is experiencing a flash flood. Rescue efforts have begun.

Jammu and Kashmir Leader of the Opposition and Paddar-Nagseni MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma commented on the flash flood in the Chashoti district of Kishtwar, saying, “We do not yet have any statistics or data, but there is a chance of significant destruction there. Because of the ongoing Yatra, the region is congested. In order to find an NDRF team for rescue operations, I will speak with the Lieutenant Governor.
The precise number of victims from this cloudburst catastrophe, which occurred on the pilgrimage path, has not yet been verified by authorities. According to preliminary estimates, a significant number of people and property have been lost.
