“Taking part in the Mangla Aarti at the Shri Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad on the holy day of Rath Yatra is a unique and wonderful experience in and of itself. I participated in Mahaprabhu’s Mangla Aarti today and prayed. In his ‘X’ tweet, Amit Shah wished for everyone to continue receiving the blessings of Mahaprabhu.

Shah had earlier welcomed the country on the occasion of the revered Jagannath Rath Yatra, calling it a “unique confluence of faith and devotion.”

“Jagannath, hail! Warmest regards to everyone on this holy day of the Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Moving ahead while valuing devotion, culture, and tradition is fundamental to who we are, as the Rath Yatra of Shri Jagannath Ji tells us. It is a singular fusion of religion and devotion. For everyone’s well-being and advancement, I offer prayers to Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Veer Balabhadra, and Mata Subhadra,” Shah said on X.

The importance of the Rath Yatra was emphasized by Union Minister Shah, who said that it represents the spirit of progress while valuing devotion, culture, and legacy.

Additionally, President Droupadi Murmu posted on her official ‘X’ profile and wished everyone a happy Jagannath Rath Yatra.

“I send my warmest regards to Lord Jagannath’s followers both in India and outside on this auspicious Rath Yatra occasion. By receiving the darshan of the worshipped deities—Balabhadra, Lord Shri Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Chakraraj Sudarshan—seated on the chariot, millions of devotees enjoy a spiritual encounter. The Rath Yatra specializes in the human-like divine drama of these heavenly avatars. My prayer to Lord Shri Jagannath on this auspicious day is that there be a global climate of friendship, peace, and love.

The three deities—Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and sister goddess Subhadra—are drawn by devotees to the Gundicha Temple during the Puri festival. The deities stay there for a week before returning to the Jagannath Temple. Since a sizable audience is anticipated for the Rath Yatra celebration, traffic control is a crucial concern.
