After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Modi held an urgent briefing meeting in Delhi
New Delhi: In light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at the Palam Airport shortly after arriving in Delhi early on Wednesday.

After the terrorist assault, PM Modi landed in the capital, ending his official visit to Saudi Arabia. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman invited PM Modi to Saudi Arabia for a two-day state visit.
According to government sources, PM Modi chose to shorten his stay and did not attend the formal supper that Saudi Arabia organized. Originally, Wednesday night was when he was supposed to return. However, after Tuesday’s terrorist incident in Pahalgam, he landed in India early on Wednesday morning.
The prime minister had already denounced the assault and promised that those responsible would face consequences.
“The terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, is something I vehemently condemn. To those who have lost a loved one, my condolences. I hope the wounded get well as soon as possible. We are doing all we can to help those who are impacted. Those responsible for this horrible deed will not escape punishment! Their nefarious plan will never be successful. Our determination to combat terrorism is unwavering and will only get stronger.
Following a horrific terror incident in Pahalgam, one of the largest since Article 370 was repealed in 2019, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman also abruptly ended her international trip. Sitharaman was visiting Peru and the United States on business.
In order to find the attackers, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have begun a search operation in the Baisran, Pahalgam, and Anantnag general region.
The attack, which targeted visitors in the Anantnag district’s Pahalgam region, caused national indignation. Numerous political figures denounced the assault.
In protest of Tuesday’s terror incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir residents participated in a candlelight march at a number of locations around the state.
Workers of the Bajrang Dal protested the terror attack in Jammu, while residents of Baramulla, Srinagar, Poonch, and Kupwara marched by candlelight.
In response to the Pahalgam terror incident, residents of Khod hamlet in the Akhoor region of the region also staged a candlelight march. The number of victims in the tragedy has not yet been confirmed by the government.
