Adani Group denies tie-up with Chinese companies BYD and Beijing Weilian for battery manufacturing
Ahmedabad: A media story that implied a possible partnership between the Adani Group and Chinese firms BYD and Beijing Welion New Energy Technology for battery manufacture in India was flatly refuted by the Adani Group on Monday.

“We vehemently disagree with Bloomberg’s article from August 4, 2025, which suggested a partnership between the Adani Group and Beijing Welion New Energy Technology and BYD. In a response, a representative for the Adani Group said that the information was unfounded, false, and deceptive.
The Adani Group is not looking into partnering with BYD in any way to manufacture batteries in India, the statement said.
It also said unequivocally that they were not in any talks for any form of agreement with Beijing Welion New Energy Technology.
The Adani Group was reportedly considering a partnership with Chinese EV behemoth BYD Co., among others, including Welion New Energy Technology Co., according to the report, which cited unnamed sources. The report asserted that this partnership would enable the conglomerate to expand its efforts in clean energy and manufacture batteries in India.
