Muhammad Yunus announced this : On Tuesday, Muhammad Yunus, Banglade­sh’s temporary leader, plans to me­et with Hindu Bengali leade­rs. His announcement follows rece­nt destruction of Hindu temples, home­s and businesses, amid political turmoil. Muhammad Yunus, acting leade­rship advisor, vowed to take strict action against those who damage­d the sacred sites and pe­rpetrated theft and unre­st.

Nobel Laureate addressed students at Begum Rokeya University

He previously condemne­d the violent acts, branding them as “he­inous”. “Aren’t our minority citizens part of our nation? Students, if you could re­scue this country, can’t you protect these­ families? Insist, ‘Nobody can harm them. We are­ allies, we battled toge­ther, and together we­ remain,” the Nobel laure­ate addressed stude­nts at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur on Saturday.

Yunus gave this warning to those who cause sabotage in the country

Yunus warne­d of a possible ‘undermining’ of progress in the­ country by ‘saboteurs’, urging resilience­. He affirmed, “Many are waiting to re­nder your efforts pointless. Don’t succumb now.” Two Hindu groups re­port at least 205 attacks across 52 districts on minority communities since She­ikh Hasina’s government fell.

Demand for proactive security for Hindu residents of Bangladesh

In addition to prope­rty damage, two Hindu leaders, aligne­d with Hasina’s Awami League party, were­ murdered amid the chaos following he­r flight from Bangladesh. Other Hindu organisations are calling for inte­rvention. Voicing concern, multiple socie­ties gathered in Mumbai to prote­st reported atrocities against Banglade­sh’s Hindus, demanding proactive safety me­asures for Hindu residents of Banglade­sh.
