Tripura: NC Nagar jawans achieve major success against drug smuggling along Indo-Bangladesh border
Sepahijala: According to a statement from the BSF, troops from the Border Out Post (BOP) NC Nagar in the Sepahijala district of Tripura successfully stopped an attempt by Indian smugglers to smuggle contraband across the Indo-Bangladesh border and retrieved 43,800 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 4.38 crore. This was a significant victory against transborder drug trafficking.

BSF troops saw suspicious activity close to the international boundary and took special action based on their information. The smugglers abandoned the shipment on Indian territory after being confronted.
Following a comprehensive investigation of the region, 21 packages containing 43,800 Yaba tablets—worth around Rs 4.38 crore—were found. On the same day, BSF forces also confiscated more illegal goods valued at Rs 368,604 from various areas along the Tripura border.
The BSF’s increased efforts to prevent cross-border smuggling and protect national security include this successful operation. The confiscated goods have been turned over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
According to authorities, Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) had earlier apprehended two individuals and retrieved 60,000 Yaba pills valued at around Rs 6 crore from a car in Teliamura, Tripura.
The operation was conducted by security personnel on Saturday, and Md. Juber Ahmad and Il Bar Hussain have been identified as the culprits who were apprehended.
