PM Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and Odisha on a two-day visit on June 20
New Delhi: On June 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Bihar and Odisha, and on June 21, he will travel to Andhra Pradesh. On Friday, the prime minister will lay the groundwork and officially open a number of development projects in Siwan, which will significantly advance Bihar’s infrastructural and socioeconomic growth.

In order to improve the region’s railway infrastructure, the Prime Minister will launch a new train service on the Vaishali-Deoria railway line, which is valued at over Rs 400 crore. The Prime Minister will also officially open the Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Patliputra and Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah, significantly improving connectivity in North Bihar.
In keeping with the goal of “Make in India – Make for the World,” the prime minister will also officially unveil a brand-new locomotive that was constructed at the Marhowra Plant and will be sent to Nigeria. This factory’s first export locomotive was produced here. They have powerful engines, cutting-edge AC propulsion systems, control systems based on microprocessors, ergonomic cabin designs, and innovations like regenerative braking.
The Prime Minister will open six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project, which is valued at over Rs 1,800 crore, to meet the demands of the local population as part of his pledge to preserve and revitalize the Ganga River.
In order to provide the residents of these towns access to clean and safe drinking water, the prime minister will also lay the groundwork for water supply, sanitation, and STPs totaling more than Rs 3000 crore in a number of Bihar towns.
The Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bihar, which would significantly improve the region’s electrical infrastructure.
In the state, 15 grid substations—including Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, and Siwan—are getting standalone BESSs erected. Each substation will have a battery built with a capacity of 20–80 MWh. By returning the previously stored power to the grid, it would immediately help the customers by saving the distribution corporations from purchasing electricity at exorbitant prices.
More than 53,600 PMAY U recipients in Bihar will also get their first installment from the prime minister. To commemorate the Grih Pravesh Ceremony of more than 6,600 PMAY U built homes, he would also give keys to a select group of beneficiaries.
According to the statement, he would go to Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on the same day and preside over a state-level event commemorating the State Government of Odisha’s one-year anniversary at about 4:15 PM. In addition, he will speak to the crowd and lay the cornerstone for many development projects totaling more than Rs 18,600 crore.
To mark the end of the first year of the Odisha government, the Prime Minister will preside over a state-level event in Bhubaneswar.
The Prime Minister will also launch and lay the groundwork for other development projects totaling more than Rs 18,600 crore, further demonstrating his dedication to Odisha’s overall development. Critical areas such as drinking water, irrigation, agricultural and health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, portions of national highways, and a new railway line will all be covered by these projects.
In a historic step toward the area’s integration with the national railway network, the prime minister will officially launch new train services, bringing rail access to the Boudh region for the first time.
The Prime Minister will launch 100 electric buses as part of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system, promoting a cutting-edge, environmentally responsible urban mobility network and significantly advancing clean energy and sustainable transportation.
The Odisha Vision Document will be released by the prime minister. The Vision will lay out an ambitious and forward-looking plan for inclusive progress, centered on the historic years of 2036 (when Odisha celebrates 100 years as India’s first linguistic State) and 2047 (when India celebrates 100 years of independence).
The ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ program will be introduced by the Prime Minister in recognition of the contributions of distinguished Odias. It seeks to honor Odisha’s past while fostering cultural tourism by converting their birthplaces into living monuments via museums, interpretive centers, sculptures, libraries, and public areas.
In addition to honoring more than 16.50 lakh Lakhpati Didis as representations of the state’s wealth and independence, the prime minister will congratulate female achievers from all throughout the state.
The Prime Minister will speak during the International Yoga Day Mass Yoga Demonstration in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on June 21 at around 6:30 AM.
The Prime Minister will lead the nation’s commemoration of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) from Visakhapatnam. Along with about 5 lakh other participants, he will lead the country in a peaceful yoga protest at the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) session on Visakhapatnam’s beach. Events for Yoga Sangam will take place concurrently at over 3.5 lakh venues around India. This year, platforms like MyGov and MyBharat have created youth-focused projects under Yoga Unplugged and specific competitions like Yoga with Family to encourage widespread participation.
Based on the Indian concept of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May everyone be free from sickness), this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasizes the connection between human and planetary health and reflects the worldwide ideal of communal well-being. The Prime Minister has spearheaded the festivities from a number of locations, including New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mysuru, New York (UN Headquarters), and Srinagar, since the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) accepted India’s request to celebrate June 21 as International Day of Yoga (IDY) in 2015. Since then, IDY has grown into a significant worldwide health movement.
