Who made the flute and since when is it being played, the music academy got involved in RTI on this question
Who made the flute and how long has it been played? Who invented the musical instrument Tabla? The Sangeet Natak Akademi does not even know this. Responding to a Right to Information (RTI) query from the Ministry of Culture, the Academy has asked the applicant to study in the Academy's library, citing different opinions regarding the invention of the tabla.
RTI was filed in the Ministry of Culture
Agra's RTI activist Dr. Devashish Bhattacharya sought information about the musical instruments tabla, flute, and harmonium by applying online on September 6 to the Ministry of Culture. Ankur Acharya, Deputy Secretary, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi replied to this on 20 September. He has apprised the applicant that the Music Section of the Academy is of the view that the subject is of intensive study. There are different opinions regarding the information sought by the applicant. It is very difficult to say anything about this. The Music Section has suggested that applicants can personally visit the Sangeet Natak Akademi library and study in this regard.
RTI activist Dr. Debashish Bhattacharya.
I will go to appeal now
RTI activist Dr. Debashish Bhattacharya said that he is not satisfied with the reply of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. The academy does not want to reply to his RTI. He will make the first appeal against it. The wrong history is being taught in textbooks. Tabla is a mythological instrument. It was not invented by Amir Khusrau. The flute and harmonium are also ancient musical instruments.
These questions were asked in RTI
When and who invented the tabla?
Since when is the harmonium being used as a musical instrument?
How long has the flute been played and who made it?
-Is tabla first made of clay or of wood? Who made it?
