Mafia Mukhtar Ansari's special shooter Ravi arrested after encounter, the journalist was killed in Ghazipur
In the Aliganj police station area of Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, on Thursday night, the STF arrested Ravi alias Digvijay, accused of killing Mafia Mukhtar Ansari and a journalist during an encounter. STF had an encounter with miscreants near Kendriya Vidyalaya late on Thursday night.
During the encounter, Ravi alias Digvijay was injured after being shot in the leg. He has been admitted to the trauma center for treatment. Ravi was wanted in the murder of journalist Rajesh in Ghazipur. The STF also nabbed two other associates of Ravi. Ravi had a reward of Rs 25,000.
STF Deputy SP Dharmesh Kumar Shahi said that the shooter Ravi is originally from Karmanda Lonepur in Ghazipur. Ravi was accompanied by his two other companions, Utkarsh Yadav and Umesh. He has also been arrested. Deputy SP said that all three were on a bike at night.
On the information of the informer, the STF team reached Kendriya Vidyalaya for arrest. When the team tried to stop, the miscreants started firing. During the encounter, these accused fired 8 to 10 rounds.
In retaliatory firing, Ravi got shot in the leg and he fell. All three were caught after a siege. Ravi had also killed Taufeeq, a close aide of Munna Bajrangi, five years ago. He then fled and came in contact with Mukhtar's close friends. Ravi was wanted in the murder of journalist Rajesh in Ghazipur.
