During his DNC address, Bill Clinton makes fun of Kamala Harris’s McDonald’s history

Former President Bill Clinton made fun of his well-known love of McDonald’s during his address at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Thursday. He also highlighted Vice President Kamala Harris‘ early employment at the fast-food giant.

Clinton used Harris’ experience working at McDonald’s when she was a student to highlight her commitment to public service.

“She worked at McDonald’s when she was a student,” said Clinton. “She said, ‘How can I assist you?’ and flashed her thousand-watt grin on everyone she met. Even at the height of her authority, she continues to ask, “How can I help you?”

“I’ll be so happy when she actually enters the White House because, at last, she’ll break my record as the president who has spent the most time at McDonald’s,” said Clinton in a lighthearted moment.

The classic portrayal of Clinton’s love for McDonald’s on “Saturday Night Live” included clips of Hartman’s Clinton visiting the restaurant and engaging with customers in lighthearted sketches. The former president was such a fan of the fast-food restaurant business that a Little Rock, Arkansas, McDonald’s honors his many trips when he was governor with a plaque.

The plaque at the McDonald’s in Little Rock, Arkansas, reportedly says, “Bill Clinton made regular stops at this downtown McDonald’s during his morning runs from the Arkansas governor’s mansion,” according to NBC Chicago. Thank you, Mr. President, for your business.

The Washington Post claims that after becoming office, Clinton’s eating preferences have changed. Following quadruple bypass surgery, he gave up his favorite McDonald’s and switched to a primarily vegan diet for health concerns.

Donald Trump, the former president, has also been recognized for his love of McDonald’s, carrying on the fast-food tradition of previous presidents.
