Man arrested for allegedly selling fake items on route to Vaishno Devi shrine

Reasi: According to police authorities, a guy has been taken into custody for allegedly posing as a registered porter and providing services along the path leading to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.

The offender has been identified as Mast Ali, son of Nazir Ahmed, who lives in Harot Kot village in Surjan Dhar, Reasi district, according to Police Station Bhawan, which is situated in Vaishno Devi.

He was apprehended pretending to be a “Pithu (porter),” which the police said went against the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s (SDM) office’s directives. To perform any type of service, including a porter, palki, or pony, Ali was operating without a proper registration or service card, which is a mandatory requirement.

In accordance with Sections 223 and 319 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police have filed a complaint against Mast Ali.

Following the horrific terrorist assault in Pahalgam, police are still on high alert. The nation laments the deaths of 26 individuals who were shot dead by terrorists on April 22 at Pahalgam’s Baisaran Meadow. Due to increased security concerns between the two neighboring nations, the event has prompted more diplomatic replies.
