Officials said the Indian forces reacted quickly and successfully to the Pakistan Army’s unjustified small weapons fire. According to authorities, during the night of April 26–27, the Indian Army successfully retaliated against Pakistan Army fire along the Line of Control in regions across from the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors.

Even as security forces stepped up anti-terror operations in the Kashmir valley after the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident, which claimed 26 lives, tensions along the LoC are still high. According to the Indian Army, its forces used suitable small arms fire in an efficient response.

“Unprovoked small weapons fire was opened by Pakistan Army positions in the vicinity of Tutmari Gali and Rampur Sectors on the evening of April 26–27, 2025, across the Line of Control. According to the Indian Army, “Our troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire.”

In the meanwhile, Kulgam Police apprehended two terrorist associates and retrieved a stockpile of weapons and ammunition in the Kulgam region of south Kashmir as part of a coordinated operation with the Army and CRPF.

A regular checkpoint at Matalhama Chowk Thokerpora, Qaimoh, stopped and took two people into custody, according to an official statement. They are both Thokerpora, Qaimoh locals and have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Salam Bhat, and Mohd Ismail Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat.

Security personnel found two handguns, two handgun magazines, and twenty-five rounds of handgun ammunition in their hands. Under the applicable legal provisions, Police Station Qaimoh has filed a case and initiated an inquiry to further investigate the incident.
